Today, South Africa marks Human Rights Day. It is a day that reminds us of how far this country has come, and of the rights every South African is entitled to, including the right to dignity, the right to security, and the right to a future worth living.
At MWRF, those rights are not abstract. They are the reason we exist.
Municipal workers are the backbone of everyday life in South Africa. The services communities depend on do not happen by accident. They are the result of dedicated people showing up, day after day, to keep this country functioning. Each one of those people deserves to step away from work one day knowing their years of service have been honoured.
